As of this morning, Kevin stated this below and that details would be forthcoming:

and that

Denham Springs Residents: Public Meeting September 13 2010 7 PM About Proposed 100 Acre Federal Housing Project In Watson! Live Oak Middle School Gymnasium.

I received this email below:

neighbors-in-action“Yesterday I received a disturbing announcement regarding a proposed 100-acre federal housing project in Watson! The info I have is from http://www.neighborsnaction.com/. I was also told that this proposal was “slipped in” by HUD to a council meeting for a vote at the last minute, and in a very deceptive manner.

It was discovered out by coincidence who the folks behind that website are. They said that somehow the Feds have blended DOT and HUD funding into whatever “TIGER II” is, and it got voted on without close examination, as it sounded like some transportation project.

There is a public meeting Monday, September 13 at 7PM in the Live Oak Middle gym, with President Grimmer as the guest speaker.

PLEASE tell everyone you know in Livingston Parish about this, and ask them to spread it to all their contacts. The meeting is only 5 days away!”
